Chance to Dance Programme - Doncaster

11 December 2019

Applications are open for the next stage in the Royal Opera House’s new Chance to Dance programme.

Applications are now open for your dance school to become one of the key partners in delivering the Royal Opera House’s new Chance to Danceprogramme in Doncaster for the 2020/21 academic year.

Chance to Dance gives year 3 primary school children, who may face various barriers to accessing ballet, their first opportunity to engage creatively with ballet, through fun and accessible dance workshops delivered in their primary schools by a Chance to Dance Associate Dance Artist.

Up to five dance schools and ballet teachers can take part and deliver the project in Doncaster. Each dance school will nominate one of their dance teachers to take part in a professional development programme, which includes mentoring from the Royal Opera House dance artists, who will be responsible for delivering the Chance to Dance programme in a local primary school.

To become a Chance to Dance Associate Dance School please read the application notes and complete an application form, nominating a dance teacher and explaining why your school meets the criteria for partnership.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 10 January 2020

If having read all the accompanying information you have any further questions please contact the Chance to Dance team at the Royal Opera House: chancetodance@roh.org.uk

Chance to Dance is delivered in partnership with The Royal Ballet and The Royal Ballet School.

For this phase of the programme, we are working in partnership with Cast Doncaster, Doncaster Creates and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.

Chance to Dance is generously supported by the Mohn Westlake Foundation.
