The Grandison Clark Awards 2012

The Grandison Clark Awards 2012

22 March 2013

Avon Valley School, Rugby

The standard of the work at the 2nd December event was very good and the teachers who entered students are to be complemented on their choreography and hard work preparing the students for the competition.

The adjudicators were: Deborah Capon, who with a wide knowledge of National Dance, has entered students and won many previous Grandison Clark events; Geoff Lucas, an experienced dancer and director who also adjudicates for the British Federation and All England Dance; and Marion Roberts, who adjudicated the musicality of the students and has also adjudicated for the Federated Board and All England Dance.

“The dancers were very professional in their performances and in most cases captured the dance styles well”

The classes were challenging to adjudicate as the dancers were very professional in their performances and in most cases captured the dance styles well. Much effort had been made to capture the correct designs of the costumes and most of the fabrics and colours chosen reflected this.

National Dance is one of the dance forms which can be successful on a theatre stage and the tableaux made by the groups were delightful.

Much hard work went into the preparation prior to the event and also from volunteer helpers on the day and the Committee would like to thank teachers, parents, students, and everyone involved for making the day such a great success.
