Information for teachers

New Set Exercises for the Children’s Grades

The new set exercises are compulsory for all Grade examinations from September 2012. Please note that candidates will still be set free enchaînements by the examiner throughout the syllabi.


STOP PRESS: CHANGES TO DANCES AND VARIATIONS

Primary Grade – ‘Puddles are for Jumping’ has been withdrawn from the Primary Grade syllabus. It will continue to be examined if already taught. 

Grade 5 – Alternative Variation (d) is now Intermediate Girls’ Alternative Variation no. 1. It will continue to be examined in Grade 5 if already taught. 

Grade 6 – Alternative Variation (d) is now Intermediate Girls’ Alternative Variation no. 2. It will continue to be examined in Grade 6 if already taught.

Intermediate Foundation – New Alternative Variations, one for girls and one for boys, are being introduced into the syllabus. These will be taught at regional courses from September 2012 and examined from January 2013. 

Intermediate – The Alternative Variations (d) in Grades 5 and 6 are now respectively Intermediate Girls’ Alternative Variation no. 1 and Intermediate Girls’ Alternative Variation no. 2. 

Performance Awards

The Performance Awards will be discontinued as from January 2013.

Dances and Variations DVDs

The new DVD of the Set Dances and Variations will be available from the ISTD Shop in the Autumn Term and priced at £30.
