Jason Di Mascio
Tap Dance Faculty Committee Member
Jason initially studied at the Biddy Pinchard School of Dance before moving on to train at Italia Conti, where he gained an Honours Diploma and the first of his teaching qualifications. During his final year at college he appeared in “42nd Street” at the Drury Lane before moving on to spend eleven years appearing in the West End. His theatre credits include “Ziegfeld”, “Anything Goes”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Me & My Girl” and “Crazy For You”. Whilst performing in these, he also made several appearances on television, most notably the “Royal Variety” and “Olivier Award” shows, and has even made an appearance as a Tap expert for Granada TV.
After working professionally he returned to further his teaching qualifications at The Centre – Performing Arts College and now teaches at various colleges. He also takes workshops and teaches at exhibitions in this country and around Europe and is regularly asked to lecture for many of the Dancing Associations. He is often part of the adjudicating panel for both the Janet Cram and Marjorie Davies Tap Awards and he now examines up to DDI for the Tap Faculty. He is a member of the Tap team responsible for choreographing and teaching the revised Grade work.
