Paul Killick

Paul Killick started dancing aged eight, under the wonderful tutelage of Ms Peggy Spencer MBE at the Frank & Peggy Spencer School of Dancing in Beckenham, Kent.

Ballroom, Latin, Disco and Formation were his fundamental beginnings where he soon established his natural ability in the Latin American style. Rising through the ranks his successes culminated in becoming the World, European, British, International, United Kingdom, United States and German Amateur Champion. Turning Professional in 1994 his career continued to gain momentum where he won the British National Championships for six consecutive years. Other titles include the World Cup, Universal, International, United Kingdom, United States, Asian, Star and Imperial Championships.

Twice recipient of the Ballroom Dancer's Federation's Most Outstanding Contribution to Dance Award plus the Lifetime Contribution to Dance Award from the Heritage Classic Foundation in the USA in 2015.

Since retiring from the competition arena he has set up the following dance championships and is founder and owner of the following:

·         The Royal Ball and Gala, Los Angeles California

·         The Killick Royale Dance Championships, London England

·         Killick Klassik Dancesport Event, Boca Raton Florida

·         The Mistletoe Ball, Los Angeles California

Originally from Great Britain he is based between London and Beverly Hills California where in 2012 he took ownership of the flagship Arthur Murray International Dance Studio. 

His dance experience has lead him to theatre and television performing and choreographing numerous theatre productions as well as his own show called An evening with Paul Killick at the Cadogan Theatre in London. Paul also appeared in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing series 1 and 2.

In 2012 he was greatly honoured to be invited to Captain the British Team at the British Invitational Open to the World Team Match at the British Dance Festival.

Paul has also choreographed a number of productions for both screen and stage, including Unforgettable Boleros with Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Celia Cruz and Ricardo Montalban for PBS; Stephen Sondheim 75th Birthday Tribute Concert at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London's West End.

His demand and expertise continues to evolve, Paul has recently collaborated with DSI in creating Killick & Friends a weekly industry chat show for the world of Dancesport.

As of 2016 Paul is very excited to be sitting on the ISTD Latin American Faculty as a committee member and will do his best in helping to guide and promote the future of dance.
