The Associate qualification is recognised internationally throughout the dance teaching world and aims to develop the initial practical teaching skills and knowledge needed to teach dance in a safe environment.

This qualification gives prospective dance teachers a solid grounding in the skills and knowledge needed to teach dance in a safe environment.
You need to be a minimum of 18 years to enter for this examination.
If you feel this is the right route for you, you will need to contact a teacher qualified by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in the correct genre, who lives in your area and will prepare and train you for the examination.
After successful completion, candidates can apply for full membership with the Society. In order to to complete your initial teaching qualification route you need to progress onto the Associate Diploma.
