Trustee

Bringing together expertise in education, dance and psychotherapy, Juliet Diener founded the award-winning charity icandance in 2006, creating innovative creative and therapeutic approaches that enable disabled children, young people and adults and their families to connect, communicate and thrive.
Juliet is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, qualified specialist educator, trained ballet teacher and inclusive dance consultant. She is a recognised expert in inclusion, embodied practice and creative approaches to wellbeing, with extensive experience working across education, health, therapy, dance and the arts.
As Founder and CEO of icandance, Juliet leads a specialist organisation dedicated to building creative communities that celebrate difference and create meaningful opportunities for all. She brings an entrepreneurial and collaborative approach to developing teams, partnerships, programmes and new ways of working.
Juliet is also a researcher, writer and lecturer. She has authored book chapters and academic papers and writes extensively from her clinical and professional experience, exploring creativity, embodied practice, dance, inclusion and therapeutic approaches to supporting wellbeing. She has lectured on Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Dance Practice, Inclusive Practices and Community Building and delivers training, supervision and consultancy to professionals/organisations across sectors.
Her work is driven by a belief that creativity, movement and embodied connection can transform how we connect and understand each other and that inclusive practice should be embedded not only in specialist settings, but in every day living.
Juliet previously pursued a Doctorate by Professional Practice exploring an innovative approach integrating dance, therapy and education, and has currently paused her doctoral studies while continuing her research, writing and professional practice.
