If you've successfully completed the Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE), there are a number of pathways available to help you advance your career in dance teaching. Whether you want to gain a higher education qualification through the BA (Hons) Professional Dance Teaching and Education or work towards the prestigious Licentiate or Fellowship qualifications, ISTD supports your continued professional development.
Delivered through the ISTD Academy, this flexible degree enables dance teachers to gain a recognised higher education qualification while enhancing their professional practice and teaching expertise.
Our advanced teaching qualifications builds on the skills learnt in the initial teacher training qualifications and combines this with the knowledge and experience that come with practice as a teaching practitioner. We offer two internationally recognised qualifications; the Licentiate and Fellowship.
If you do not fulfil the entry requirements for the Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy, Licentiate or Fellowship but feel you have the required knowledge or experience, you can apply for APEL to access this qualification. The Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) scheme takes account of your professional experience and unregulated qualifications to enable you to by-pass the usual requirements.
