Part of the ISTD AcademyLevel 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) , in Unit 4 you will focus on understanding and demonstrating the level of technique required for Primary to Intermediate in the Modern Theatre genre.

At the ISTD Academy, you can access individual units of study on a part-time basis. DDE Unit 4 is delivered as a one-year course, with monthly online practical sessions and a three-day in person intensive at the end of the programme.

Academy Entry Requirements

  • ISTD Intermediate dance certificate or equivalent in chosen genre 
  • Age 18+ 
  • Some experience of being within a teaching environment or a desire to follow a teaching pathway
  • Excellent standard of English, including the ability to understand spoken and written English and to complete written assignments. This should be at a level equivalent to GCSE English Grade 4/C or above, or IELTS Level 6.  
  • Applicants must have already completed:  DDE Unit 3: Vocational Graded Examination in Dance: Intermediate (or equivalent)
