  5. Celebrating President’s Cup Day 2025

26 September 2025

Sunday 31 August marked the beginning of a new season of competition with the much-anticipated President’s Cup Day, held at the vibrant venue of Chessington. For many, including our team, it was the first time attending this prestigious event - and it certainly did not disappoint.

A warm welcome

The day commenced with the Teacher-Student events, setting a warm and supportive tone for the rest of the programme. The atmosphere was electric, filled with encouraging cheers, elegant music, and the presence of esteemed judges. The performances showcased not only the talent of the dancers but also the dedication and technical training that had clearly gone into their preparation. It was a joy to witness the synergy between teachers and students on the floor.

Solo Events

A new addition to the day’s schedule was the Solo Dancing events, which challenged dancers to step out of their comfort zones and perform independently. These performances were a testament to the dancers’ growing confidence and artistry. Each soloist delivered a secure and expressive demonstration, captivating the audience with their poise and individuality.

Couples and the President’s Cup

Following the solo events, the programme continued with Couples dancing, leading into the highlight of the day - the President’s Cup.
This year’s Cup featured a Jive Masterclass led by renowned professionals Anton Sboev and Patrizia Ranis. Their engaging and informative session had the entire room focused, absorbing every detail of their expert instruction.
Competitors then had the opportunity to present their own interpretations of the Jive choreography in one of three age categories: Under 12, Under 16, and Adults. The competition was fierce, with dancers vying for the beautifully crafted cups on display. The standard of dancing was exceptional, and the energy in the room was palpable.

After a thrilling day of competition, the following dancers were crowned President’s Cup winners in their respective categories:
