Why faculty committees matter
Faculty committees play a vital role in shaping the future of dance education within the ISTD. They provide expert guidance on syllabus development, teacher support, and the promotion of their respective genres. Committee members act as ambassadors for their faculty, ensuring that the voices of teachers and examiners are heard and that the work of the Society reflects the needs of its global community.
By contributing their knowledge and experience, these committees help maintain the highest standards of teaching and learning, while fostering innovation and inclusivity across the dance world.
Imperial Classical Ballet
Following a vote among eligible members, seven candidates have been elected to the Imperial Classical Ballet faculty committee:
Ruth Davies
Sinead Murphy
Heidi Speakman
Irela Strachan
Jackie Styles
Lorraine Swain
Tracey Warner
There were eight eligible applicants for seven places, which meant this election went to a vote.
Classical Indian Dance
We are pleased to confirm that the following five candidates have been elected unopposed to the Classical Indian Dance faculty committee:
Chitraleka Bolar
Pushkala Gopal
Nina Rajarani
Swati Raut
Urja Thakore
As the number of eligible candidates did not exceed the available places, no vote was required for this faculty.
Please note: Anyone who was a member of either of these two faculty committees before the election and is not listed above will no longer serve on the committee.
We thank all candidates for their interest and commitment to supporting the work of the ISTD and look forward to working with our newly elected committee members.
