The ICB Awards 2026
The ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet (ICB) Awards were held at the Central School of Ballet in London on Sunday 7 June, bringing together talented young dancers from across the UK and the Channel Islands.
The Awards showcased the very best of Imperial Classical Ballet training in a positive, welcoming, and encouraging environment.

This year's event attracted an impressive 600 online heat entries, culminating in a spectacular Live Finals Day.
Dancers from Grade 1 through to Intermediate level demonstrated not only their technical ability but also their artistry, musicality, and dedication to their craft.
It is always an honour to teach at the Awards, and this year was no exception. I was privileged to be invited once again to teach alongside fellow ICB examiners and other expert teachers, helping to create an inspiring and supportive experience for all participants.
The distinguished adjudicating panel comprised Jacqueline Gray, Sophie Allnatt, and Shevelle Dynott. For our next generation of dancers, the opportunity to perform in front of such highly respected industry professionals was both inspiring and invaluable.

Behind the scenes, the scale of organisation required to deliver an event of this calibre is immense. Every detail was meticulously planned by the CPD and Events Team alongside the dedicated members of the ICB Committee.
The success of the Awards is a testament to the power of teamwork, and this collaborative spirit was evident throughout the day among organisers, teachers, volunteers, and performers alike.
Representing 34 schools from across the UK and the Channel Islands, dancers came together under one roof and embodied the supportive ethos of the ICB Faculty.
From the moment they entered the warm-up studios until the prize presentations, the young dancers encouraged one another and celebrated each other's achievements. They were supported throughout the day by our wonderful volunteer chaperones and class teachers, whose commitment helped ensure a memorable experience for all involved.

A particular highlight was the return of the exceptional pianist Kate Dickson, who once again accompanied every class throughout the event. Dancing to live music is a special experience for young performers, enriching their understanding of musicality and artistry while creating a truly inspiring atmosphere.
Kate's outstanding accompaniment contributed enormously to the success of the day and was greatly appreciated by dancers and teachers alike.
The Jean Campbell Award
A special highlight was the presentation of the Jean Campbell Award, which recognises outstanding commitment to the ICB Faculty. This year's award was presented to Jacqueline Gray by senior examiner Alexandra Barnes, in recognition of her exceptional dedication and service.
The Imperial Classical Ballet Awards were a tremendous success, both on and off the stage. The ICB Faculty continues to champion excellence in dance teaching, empowering teachers to nurture students who are versatile, musical, artistic, and technically accomplished.

From our youngest Grade 1 performers to the accomplished Intermediate dancers, every participant demonstrated dedication, enthusiasm, artistry, and musicality. Their performances reflected not only their own hard work but also the high standards and values of the ICB Faculty.
Long may the Imperial Classical Ballet Faculty continue to inspire teachers and students alike, providing opportunities that celebrate achievement, foster confidence, and encourage the next generation of dancers to flourish.
