November 1 2023 marks World Ballet Day, a global celebration that brings together over 50 of the world's leading ballet and dance companies for a packed day of dance.
To celebrate the occasion, we are launching a competition to celebrate all things ballet.
Pas de Chat, step of the cat. A distinctive buoyant step. The dancer springs from fifth position and jumps sideways in the air bringing the feet up like a cat, before landing into fifth position in a demi plié.
Your World Ballet Day challenge is to:
1. Practice your Pas de Chat to perfection.

2. Devise and practice a brand-new ballet step inspired by an animal of your choice and give it a name, ‘Pas de XXXX’.

3. Upload a video of yourself dancing to your Instagram page, first your Pas de Chat and then your own invention - Pas de ………!’ to be entered into our giveaway with Freed of London.
Make sure to tag @istddance and #ISTDWBD, naming your new move in your caption.
