The ISTD is seeking two new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the future of an organisation that has been at the heart of dance education for more than a century.
As a Trustee, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, supporting strong governance and ensuring that dance continues to transform lives across the globe. Working alongside fellow Board members and the Chief Executive, you will help steer an ambitious organisation committed to educational excellence, innovation and accessibility in dance.

- Plays a vital role in developing dance teachers, raising standards and promoting participation in dance worldwide

Who we're looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with a range of professional and leadership backgrounds. Whether your experience has been gained within the dance sector, education, business or another field, we are looking for people who can bring strategic insight, sound judgement and a commitment to the Society's mission.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with senior-level experience in:
- Finance
- Facilities and property management
- Higher education
- Commercial strategy and business development
Above all, we are looking for people who share our commitment to educational excellence, inclusion and increasing opportunities for people to experience the benefits of dance.
About the role
This is an unremunerated Trustee position based in London, with opportunities to contribute both in person and remotely.
As a member of the Board, you will:
- Provide strategic oversight and governance
- Support the development of organisational strategy
- Act as an ambassador for the Society
- Help safeguard the reputation, values and long-term sustainability of the ISTD
