A look back at the day
The event began with teacher-student competitions, where dancers performed alongside their teachers or an experienced dancer from their school. Competitors ranged from Newcomer level through to Gold Star Awards, providing a platform for dancers at every stage of their journey.
The day also included solo set dance events, where competitors performed routines within their age and level categories, before moving on to couples competitions.
What makes the President's Cup particularly special is the addition of a masterclass led by industry professionals. This year, competitors took part in an American Smooth Waltz masterclass led by Kiril Shevelev, giving dancers the opportunity to learn from an expert before putting their skills into practice in the prestigious President's Cup competition.
Following the masterclass, dancers competed through a series of rounds across Juvenile, Junior and Adult categories, before the three category winners faced off for the overall President's Cup title.
One of the most memorable aspects of the day was the positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the venue.
Several schools were attending the event for the first time, and competitors, teachers and supporters helped create a friendly and encouraging environment.
The camaraderie between the teachers was particularly noticeable, with teachers chatting, supporting one another and celebrating their dancers' successes.
Moments that stood out
Seeing dancers as young as four and five take to the floor on their own was a real highlight. It showed not only their confidence, but also the independence that dance can help young people develop.
It was also wonderful to see how engaged everyone was during the masterclass and how quickly the dancers picked things up. It gave them a unique opportunity to experience a different style of teaching and gain a fresh perspective.

When taking an exam, the focus is very much on each dancer's own performance. In competition, dancers learn how to project, perform and stand out among other dancers on the floor.

The masterclass element also offers competitors the chance to learn from someone outside their usual teaching environment.
Many dancers are used to hearing advice from the same teacher every week, so hearing a different viewpoint or approach can be incredibly valuable and inspiring.
